    Abstract

Currently, studies on cancer patients are touched, but there are few qualitative studies applied to terminal cancer patients. Therefore, in this study, we try to grasp the various psychological problems that may occur in patients through laughter therapy process. Data collection was conducted through the focus group interview method from May 1, 2017 to June 30, 2017. The collected data were analyzed by applying the phenomenological method of Giorgi. As a result of the research, 13 meaningful themes and 5 core meaning (anxiety, unfamiliarity of participation, Improvement of physical function, faith of laughter therapy, emotional satisfaction) were derived. In conclusion, laughter therapy can positively change the perception and attitude of terminal cancer patients. It can be used as one of the complementary therapies for terminal cancer patients, and further research is needed.
